Following a review of our Facilities activities, we are now seeking to recruit a Facilities & Maintenance Assistant - late shift. The team provides an essential range of compliance, soft and hard services, logistics, room management, hospitality, events support and much more which cover our premises in Bournemouth, Southampton and London. This role will be based in our Bournemouth office.
Working alongside a Facilities & Maintenance Assistant (early), you will help ensure the smooth running of our premises including general caretaking, logistics and basic maintenance activities. Proactive, adaptable and organised by nature, you will be a good communicator and set a high standard in your application to work and the way you support our values. This is a great opportunity to help shape the facilities service and so a willingness to adapt and adjust will be necessary.
General Caretaking, Housekeeping and Security
Security and safety, general tidiness around the site including incident response and check on CCTV equipment
Fire and first aid response
Processing mail, internal and external postal services and courier/deliveries
Goods in management
Oversight of cleaning and sustainable waste removal
Furniture moves & events support
Logistics, including driving
Building Maintenance (Mult-trade Basic)
Working knowledge of the basic elements of the premises and supporting technologies
Basic fault finding and escalation to qualified contractors where necessary
Basic maintenance and repairs
Periodic compliance checks (e.g. water hygiene, fire safety)
Oversight of contractors on site
Qualifications & Experience:
General understanding of facilities and /or property maintenance (City & Guilds/NVQ2+ or other relevant qualification, working towards or willing to train)
Experience in a similar facilities assistant or general maintenance role
Evidence of competent DIY skills
Full and clean driving license required
Good IT Skills and awareness of facilities software and tools
Criteria:
Ability to lift and move furniture and other bulky items
Excellent time management, prioritisation and organisational skills
The role holder will need to be able to work on their own initiative as well as part of the team
Appreciation and understanding of situations requiring tact, diplomacy and discretion
Some flexibility regarding working hours is essential to deal with non-routine requirements
