Role Overview:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Facilities Co-ordinator to join our team on a permanent basis. This position is responsible for providing support to ensure that the facility and laboratory runs smoothly and safely so that scientists and support staff can perform their day-to-day duties with minimal disruption.
Core Responsibilities:
Facilities
:
+ Maintain facility through existing contractor relationships whilst continually evaluating whether established third party providers are suitable and sufficient.
+ Schedule, supervise & co-ordinate preventative maintenance visits and 'one off' repairs to ensure the facility runs smoothly with minimum downtime.
+ Provide leadership and direction to Senior Management for facilities operational efficiency, considerations, & improvements.
+ Provide communication, support, guidance, and assistance to site operational staff regarding facilities infrastructure, and equipment.
+ Maintain security systems, access ID and reporting as required
Project Management:
+ Plan, schedule, manage & organise facilities renovations, reorganisations & installations of new infrastructure, equipment & services.
+ Work reactively to resolve facilities related problems to minimise downtime, increase efficiency and contribute to continuous improvement in your area.
Financial:
+ Continually review all facility contracts as appropriate to obtain best service, value for money, and recommend initiatives where appropriate.
Health and Safety:
+ Active participation in EHS committee and Change Management process
+ Track, record, and report on facilities environmental KPI's e.g., electricity, gas, water & waste (hazardous & general)
+ Proactively plan, organise, and improvement initiatives e.g., energy use reduction, etc.
Lab Support:
+ Back-up for Goods In area, covering all deliveries including customer samples in/ out.
+ Manage inventory system.
+ Participate & contribute to Lab Captains meetings presenting facilities plans that impact lab work.
+ Replacement of gas cylinders and management of other critical lab services as required.
Quality
:
+ Ensure facilities SOPs are followed, reviewed, and maintained as appropriate.
+ Raise and execute Change Management Forms as appropriate for facilities led projects, targeting right first time, and executing such projects within budget and associated timelines.
Special Factors:
Must wear appropriate PPE (lab coat, goggles, gloves etc.) in laboratory.
Some non-routine manual handling required.
Qualifications:
Essential
5 GCSES's or equivalent including Maths and English.
Experience of Facilities management within a scientific laboratory environment.
Basic knowledge of Health and Safety.
Computer literate and proficient with Microsoft Office suite e.g., Excel, Work, MS Project.
Understanding of laboratory procedures.
Knowledge of SOPs, GLP and cGMPs.
Knowledge & Experience with pressure systems and gas cylinder handling.
Understanding of finance implications of facilities management.
Exhibits a "team player" attitude and excellent communication skills. Good at building internal and external customer relationships.
Flexibility and adaptability.
Demonstrate good time management skills and organization- can accomplish tasks within agreed deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to plan, execute and maintain scheduled maintenance activities e.g., Yearly services.
Desireable
IATA & ADR dangerous goods transportation knowledge.
General Laboratory safety and skills experience.
NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.
Recognised facilities management qualification.
