The vacancy




We are seeking a proactive and organised Facilities Assistant to join our team at Wilkin Chapman Rollits. In this role, you will work closely with our Facilities Manager (FM) to help maintain a comfortable, productive, and safe working environment across our six locations. You will play a key part in ensuring our facilities run smoothly, supporting the day-to-day operations while helping us maintain high standards of service and compliance. As this role involves travel between our offices, a full, clean driving licence and access to a car are required. Occasional weekend work may also be necessary, particularly to accommodate contractor access.

Your role will include:



Acting as point of contact for external contractors and Service providers, ensuring compliance with safe working practices and standards. Support the FM with the upkeep of all facilities, including regular inspections and minor maintenance & repairs of equipment and systems. Maintenance projects, minor office moves and general support to all building users, which could include out of hours or unsociable hours from time to time. Support the FM with projects related to facility improvements, including planning, execution, and monitoring progress. Assist with safety protocols, key holding and monitoring access to the premises. Operation and testing of intruder alarm, fire alarm and security systems and ensuring that fire and other emergency equipment is maintained in accordance with legislation and ensure deficiencies are reported and rectified in a timely fashion. All other facilities duties reasonably required.

Skills required:



Good communication skills both written and verbal. Working knowledge of M&E systems, and facility maintenance practices. Proficiency in reading and interpreting project plans and specifications. General maintenance skills. The ability to work independently, to show initiative and to organise effectively. Possess good awareness and understanding of H&S legislation and the practical implications.
