Job Description

Targetfollow Estates Limited, a national property development and management company, is looking to recruit an experienced full-time Facilities and Maintenance Supervisor for our Grade 2 listed retail and residential site at the Pantiles in Tunbridge Wells.

They will assist in the management and maintenance of The Pantiles property daily. This role ensures the estate is presented and maintained to a high standard, addressing tenant and public issues, and deputising for the Pantiles Estates Manager during absences. Reporting to the Pantiles Estate Manager, the role also involves working as part of a team to keep the site, buildings, and surroundings clean, tidy, and in good condition. They will be practical and flexible with the ability to multi-task and deal with a variety of duties whilst also able to report on them in a clear and concise way.

They must be IT literate with demonstrable experience of the Microsoft Office suite and have good numeracy and communication skills (GCSE Maths and English at Grade C or above is essential).

Based at The Pantiles, the role does require some prior supervisory experience as the candidate will be overseeing a small team of facilities assistants. In addition to supporting the Facilities Manager (FM) in the smooth operation of the site, they will take pride in the appearance and growing success of the Pantiles.

On the job Facilities Management training can/will be provided for the right candidate so that they can provide sufficient cover for the Pantiles Estates Manager during absences. Additionally, to compliment the on-the-job training, a training package can/will be put together such that the candidate will be able to achieve a NEBOSH Health and Safety Certificate and membership of IWFM along with any other training that may be required.

Working Hours and Days



Working Hours*: 40 hours per week over the course of 7 days.

Days of Work

:

5 over 7 days - usually 09:00-17:30 (1-hour lunch) but some flexibility in hours required to accommodate the site's events and maintenance schedules. Two weekends per calendar month must be worked in lieu of midweek days off.*

Key Responsibilities



Overall Presentation: Maintain the presentation of The Pantiles and immediate surrounding areas. Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with on-site Health and Safety requirements, including fire safety and emergency evacuation procedures. Maintenance and Repairs: Perform general maintenance and repair of building fabric, including minor repairs, maintenance, and decorating. Cleaning: Ensure daily cleaning routines are carried out. Communication: Respond to tenant-related problems and communicate effectively with tenants and the general public. Procurement: Assist in the procurement of site services and supplies with authorisation from the Pantiles Estates Manager. Event Support: Provide flexibility to attend the site during weekends to assist with events as required. Fire Warden: Act as the Fire Warden for the building, ensuring regular fire and security system testing. Customer Care: Aid visitors to The Pantiles, ensuring their safety and welfare, and take pride in providing a well-run facility.

Duties



Implement the company's Health & Safety Policy, including producing in-house risk assessments and controlling work permits. Obtain quotes from contractors for specialist repairs and maintenance. Provide access for viewings and assist as required. Perform ad-hoc duties as assigned by the Portfolio Facilities Manager and Pantiles Estates Manager

Personal Skills



Good interpersonal communication skills for dealing with tenants and the public in a calm and authoritative manner. Practical and flexible with the ability to handle various situations. Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision. Highly motivated and capable of working well both independently and as part of a team. Adaptable and willing to learn.

Experience Required



Experience in cleaning and building maintenance. Desirable: Security experience and IT literacy. Desirable: Background in Facilities Management/Maintenance.

Pay: 30,000.00-40,000.00 per year
