The Role
We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Plastic Extrusion Setter to join our Extrusion Department.
In this role you will be responsible for setting up and running extrusion lines, be able to set machines safely and achieve standard quality and output targets.
You will work as part of a team of 7 Setters reporting to a Setter Team Leader on one of our 4 shift rotations on a 4 on 4 off working pattern covering days and nights.
Hours/Shift
12 Hour shifts working 4 on / 4 off. Rotating 4 on days and 4 on nights
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
Responsible for setting and adjusting extrusion machine tools and ancillary equipment in conjunction with safe systems of work.
Ensuring machines and equipment are set in accordance with the Health and Safety Policy/Health and Safety Arrangements Manual.
The adherence and promotion of quality and hygiene arrangements in all relevant areas ensuring a clean, tidy and safe working environment is maintained.
Ensuring finished product is given a first-off approval and that on-going production is within specification.
Liaise with production / QA giving accurate and detailed information regarding works and repairs
Work closely with production staff to achieve daily targets.
Support the staff and teams in your area of control to meet the needs of the business
Experience & Skills
Essential:
Mechanical knowledge
Strong planning and organising skills (able to prioritise own workload).
Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
Excellent Communicator (verbal, written, listening, influencing).
Strong/Moderate IT skills (being able to interact with logic screens)
The ideal candidate will have:
Awareness of Health and Safety and other relevant legislation
2-3 years experience within a plastic processing production environment
Extrusion Setter experience
Strong SHE awareness
An ability to prioritise workload and a strong work ethic
Understanding of lean manufacturing
