The role

As an Experienced Dental Implant Nurse at Cottage Dental, you will play a pivotal role in supporting Dr. Sandy Limerick in the delivery of high-quality dental implant procedures and general dentistry as required, with Sandy or her associates.

Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

Assisting in Dental Implant Procedures:

Provide chairside assistance to Dr. Sandy Limerick during dental implant surgeries.

Ensure the surgical environment is meticulously prepared, maintaining the highest standards of infection control.

Anticipate and assist with the specific needs of dental implant and grafting procedures, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.

Patient Care and Education:

Welcome and prepare patients for dental implant and grafting procedures, addressing any concerns, and ensuring they feel comfortable and informed.

Provide post-operative care instructions and educational materials to patients, promoting optimal recovery and oral health, particularly in cases involving bone and gum grafting.

3.

Instrument Sterilisation and Equipment Maintenance:

Maintain and sterilise surgical instruments, equipment, and treatment rooms in adherence to infection control protocols.

Collaborate with the team to ensure all equipment is in optimal working condition, reporting any issues promptly.

4.

Patient Records and Documentation:

Accurately record patient information, treatment plans, and clinical notes in compliance with regulatory standards, with specific attention to bone and gum grafting procedures.

Assist with maintaining and organising patient records, ensuring completeness and confidentiality.

5.

Collaboration with the Dental Team:

Foster effective communication and collaboration with the dental team, including dentists, hygienists, and administrative staff.

Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to stay updated on the latest advancements in dental implantology, especially in the realm of bone and gum grafting.

Requirements:

Dental Nursing Qualification:

You should possess a recognized dental nursing qualification and be registered with the General Dental Council (GDC).

Experience in Implant Dentistry:

Proven experience as a dental nurse with a specific focus on dental implant procedures, bone grafting, and gum grafting is essential. This may be tested during the interview procedure.

Infection Control Knowledge:

A thorough understanding and adherence to infection control protocols.

Excellent Communication Skills:

Effective communication with both patients and the dental team is crucial.

Team Player:

Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.

Possession of a sedation qualification is advantageous.
