Brief Description

Network Rail\'s Anglia route is seeking a Examiner Inspector to perform all visual work, maximising efficiency and effectiveness, maintaining compliance to company processes at all times.

Please note this role is home based but will look after examinations in the following areas, Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire OR Bedford, London and surrounding home counties and Lincolnshire.

About the role (External)

Key responsibilities will include:

\xc2\xb7 Investigate any incidents related to structures examination activities and provide technical support and advice accordingly, as and when required.

\xc2\xb7 Undertake the process of engineering STE2 review and submission of examination reports within your region, including risk scoring and recommendations.

\xc2\xb7 Ensure that the technical issues identified by the engineering team via report rejections and briefings are addressed and understood.

\xc2\xb7 Ensure technically compliant reports are produced in a consistent manner with minimal rejections. Ensure examiner competence is managed effectively, including briefing, training and assessment.

\xc2\xb7 Ensure that all work is undertaken to satisfy the requirements of the Contract KPI\'s.

\xc2\xb7 Establish and maintain collaborative relationships within the project in order that all technical requirements are fully understood and implemented.

\xc2\xb7 Maintain regular liaison with all key stakeholders on project progress, conducting regular reviews with your team. Participate in the implementation of site audits, inspections and trials as appropriate.

\xc2\xb7 Improve and evolve our systems, tools and processes so that we can drive efficiency and bring benefits to the organisation.

We\'re looking for someone who can demonstrate the following essential criteria:

\xc2\xb7 Have strong communication and inter-personal skills at all levels

\xc2\xb7 Able to take responsibility and work with minimum supervision, at times under pressure

\xc2\xb7 Ability to identify and share engineering best practice within the business

\xc2\xb7 Have excellent organisational skills; be able to multitask and re-prioritise to meet changing needs and deadlines

\xc2\xb7 Thorough knowledge of the technical specification and standards for the CEFA contract and structural examination

\xc2\xb7 Proven railway industry experience in structures examination, maintenance or assessment

\xc2\xb7 Chartered or Incorporated Civil or Structural Engineer

\xc2\xb7 Degree or HNC/HND in civil or structures engineering

\xc2\xb7 Computer literate with a full solid understanding of the Microsoft Office suite, particularly MS excel

It\'s not essential, but we\'d love it if you are an A1 assessor or qualified trainer.

We follow a structured pay framework, a starting salary will be offered at \xc2\xa328,000 - \xc2\xa332,000 (depending on skills and experience).

Stage 1 salary is subject to manager review starting at \xc2\xa333,500 (PTS, Mandatory Training and successful completion of Masonry Concrete & Timber training course).

Stage 2 salary is subject to manager review starting at \xc2\xa335,500(the above plus assessed to STE4 standard Masonry, Concrete & Timber, successful completion of Metallic Training Course, assessed to full STE4 and COSS/IWA competent.

Stage 3 salary is subject to manager review starting at \xc2\xa336,000 (all the above plus BSE competent).
