THE JOB
The purpose of the job is to represent Supply within the Mars Wrigley (MW) European Business Cells (either Gum, Bars or Bitesize).
The Business Cell Principal IE will develop and implement the regional supply strategy to support the growth, profitability and sustainability agenda of one of these key business segments.
He/she will partner with the Cell Regional Portfolio Director and Business Cell team to shape and implement the business plans, via portfolio management, capacity management, capital investment, product innovation, value leadership and end-to-end supply cost optimisation.
The job holder acts with a high level of independence and will influence Supply strategy at Market, Regional, Factory and Global levels. Strong expertise in Supply and Industrial Engineering is an essential pre-requisite. The job holder will interface with Marketing Directors, Factory Directors, Supply Chain Logistics Directors, Global and Regional Supply teams, Commercial and R&D experts.
What are we looking for?
We\xe2\x80\x99re looking for an Industrial Engineer who can act as a Business Leader to drive our growth strategy in partnership with the Portfolio Director. He/she must have a very strong strategic mindset together with effective influencing skills to deliver significant change to the Supply network. The jobholder should also be able to drive plans for growth, innovation, sustainability and cost optimisation in our MW factories.
The jobholder will be part of a truly diverse team of Industrial Engineers, who operate across all the European manufacturing and co-manufacturing networks and make a major contribution to the business purpose of inspiring \xe2\x80\x98moments of everyday happiness\xe2\x80\x99.
Ideally the candidate will have strong leadership experience in a manufacturing or Supply Chain role and be able to demonstrate significant business change .
The key skills required are higher education with preferably Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Science, Finance or Economics qualifications, as well as proven analytical and change management capability.
What will be your key responsibilities?
Develop and align stakeholders on the long-term cell supply strategy in-line with business targets. This strategy will lead to best-in-class supply metrics including customer casefill (CSL), Carbon Footprint, Cost efficiency (Cost of Goods Sold), Production efficiency (TRS) and as well as financial metrics including business growth (NSV), sales distribution and profitability (GMAC).
Deliver Quality Growth
Develop and implement the sourcing strategy for the segment, including make or buy decisions.
Lead long-term capacity management to deliver Best in Class casefill via recommendations on optimum utilisation levels and capital investment to adjust capacity.
Develop, evaluate and recommend optimal supply solutions for new market innovations being developed by the Cell. Ensure smooth transition to the designated production site.
Accelerate Operational Excellence
Through internal and external benchmarking, set operational and financial targets for the end-to-end Supply Chain. Review supply performance with senior stakeholders to propose insights and recommendations for further improvements.
Lead the supply Network resilience strategy to manage customer responsiveness in an increasingly disruptive external environment. This will be achieved via production line utilisation management, back-up sourcing, stock management and portfolio simplification.
Lead the cell\xe2\x80\x99s strategy to drive cost competitiveness via value leadership initiatives (including digitalisation & automation acceleration) and portfolio management. This role drives value leadership savings for the Cell (typically 20M$ of conversion savings per year) and prime savings on a COGS budget of over 250M$ .
Enable Sustained Performance
Lead the cell\xe2\x80\x99s asset management strategy to drive sustainability, digitalisation, automation, asset upgrade and refurbishment programmes.
Develop & deploy our supply roadmap to a Carbon neutral manufacturing network with recyclable packaging
Submit and gain approval for capital investment projects related to capacity and/or capability within the Mars factory network, based on strong financial and strategic justification. This role makes recommendations of Cell capital investment (typically 60M$) per year.
