The university recognises Sustainability as a core principle which underpins everything we do as captured in our . In 2022, we launched our which committed us to achieving Net Zero Carbon by 2035 and through our we are embedding a systems approach to improving environmental performance.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join our Estate Development Team to drive forward several priority workstreams relating to Sustainable Travel, Biodiversity and our Environmental Management System. You will work closely and collaboratively with numerous internal stakeholders across the university and JMSU to embed practices and policies and implement projects which support our strategic goals and objectives around carbon and sustainability. The role will oversee the development of a communications and engagement strategy to raise awareness across the organisation of environmental priorities to inspire more sustainable practices by our students and staff.
Keeping abreast of sector best practice will be essential; innovative solutions are needed to achieve the required performance improvement across all key areas, and you will need to be able to assimilate complex information and data and create coherent action plans with SMART objectives and meaningful KPIs.
