Enterprise Architect

As a Barclays Enterprise Architect, you will be a part of the central Architecture team supporting the Risk, Finance and Treasury (RFT) business domains. You will be responsible for design, design governance, improving ways of working, reducing total cost of ownership for our technology estate and accelerating public and private cloud adoption.

What will you be doing?

• Ensuring Risk Technology has a multi-year architectural roadmap that reduces TCO, simplifies the estate while being responsive to business change
• Ensuring that the roadmap and individual system architectures are consistent with our wider Barclays target architecture, our Data Strategy, and our Technology Strategy
• Aligning the group\xe2\x80\x99s book of work to deliver that roadmap over a multi-year period
• Ensuring architecture is thought through front to back from front office markets to Risk, Finance and Treasury
• Creating a culture of, and technical environment for, continuous improvement in developer productivity and delivery effectiveness
• Working with teams to develop systems that are efficient, resilient, secure, operable and take appropriate advantage of cloud capabilities and economics
• Leading Proof of Concept exercises for new products and technologies
• Overseeing assigned programs, providing guidance to team members and ensuring the implementation of agreed architecture and infrastructure

What we\xe2\x80\x99re looking for:

• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in a Computer Science or Scientific discipline and knowledge of the generic principles and patterns of computing
• Hands-on experience with Enterprise Architecture, Solution Architecture (Product), strong technology focus
• Broad experience and knowledge of Operating systems and platforms, Networking, Data management, storage, Containerization/OpenShift and Cloud \xe2\x80\x93 AWS
• Platform experience and designing and delivering cloud-native architectures either on private or public cloud

Skills that will help you in the role:

• Good knowledge of (investment) banking, experience of Capital Markets, Risk & Treasury Functions highly desirable
• Knowledge of Development Practices, DevOps principles and how these can be supported through cloud
• Experience as a product delivery lead
• Analytical skills, data wrangling, scripting/programming

In the heart of Canary Wharf, our headquarters at Churchill Place boasts onsite amenities such as; a gym, staff restaurant and deli bar, and is easily accessible by tube and bus links. With a population of around 5000 staff the atmosphere is second to none with a real buzz being created around the offices within.
