We are looking to recruit 2 experienced and inspiring teachers to join our academy to teach English. We have 2 posts available, one for the existing Hasland site and one for new site which will also be located in Chesterfield. This can be discussed on informal enquiry prior to application. The start date for the new site would be for January 2024. These sites house pupils in KS3 and KS4. The staffing teams are small compared to mainstream schools and the post will suit teachers who will take ownership of their subject and are willing to be flexible to meet the needs of the pupils and the academy. The Hasland site currently has approximately 100 pupils on roll. Classes may have up to around 10 pupils and you will be an allocated form tutor to a class. We deliver GCSE Person 2.0, entry level and Functional Skills. The new site will be on a smaller scale to Hasland with fewer classes and a smaller staffing team. We welcome applications from candidates who are able to teach engaging and inspiring lessons to challenging and disengaged KS3 and 4 pupils. This is an English teaching position however, experience in the delivery of other subjects may be advantageous.
Benefits include: Teachers\' Pension Scheme, Westfield Health membership, academy laptop.
Please do not apply using The Derbyshire County Council Website.
Due to this post having access to children and/or vulnerable adults, the successful candidate will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check. The possession of a criminal record will not necessarily prevent an applicant from obtaining this post, as all cases are judged individually according to the nature of the role and information provided.
