Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Shift Team Leader to join a fast-paced Engineering department in Tewkesbury.

You will be joining a leading independent company who we are committed to delivering high-quality products and exceptional customer service.

As an Engineering Shift Team Leader, you will provide guidance and coaching to the team of Engineers during shift operations. You will collaborate closely with the Engineering Manager, resolving electrical and mechanical maintenance issues and faults. This role requires strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach, with a focus on electrical systems.

Main Duties & Responsibilities of the Engineering Team Leader:

• Support the Engineering Manager in achieving departmental goals
• Supervise, train, and mentor staff
• Coordinate and implement planned preventative maintenance schedules
• Repair and test electrical and mechanical equipment
• Conduct fault-finding and troubleshooting activities
• Assist with office work and record keeping
• Mentor apprenticeship candidates
• Provide holiday cover for Engineers and support staff
• Participate in equipment breakdown callouts on a rotational basis

Key Skills:

• Minimum qualification of an electrical-based apprenticeship
• Experience with high-speed machinery, preferably in an FMCG industry
• Proficiency in handling automated machinery
• Strong electrical fault-finding abilities
• Self-motivated and adaptable
• Timely task completion and high-quality work delivery
• Flexibility to cover shifts and meet deadlines
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build positive working relationships
• Previous experience in supervision and people management

Shift Pattern: Week 1: Monday to Saturday 0600 - 1400. Week 2: Monday to Friday 1345 - 2145
