JB204: Engineering Manager

Location: Kettering

Salary: \xc2\xa355,000 \xe2\x80\x93 \xc2\xa360,000 per annum

Overview:

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking an Engineering Manager on behalf of one of our clients.

Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.

Duties and Responsibilities Engineering Manager:

• Reviewing new technology and standards to make sure products are to the latest specification and meet all relevant standards whilst making sure technical construction files are maintained and updated.
• Work as part of the Management Team helping support the day to day running of the business as well as reviewing and helping to drive the strategic direction of the company.
• Managing a team of engineers, supporting their continued professional development, as well as conducting performance reviews and disciplinaries where required.
• Conducting technical project reviews with customers during lager bespoke projects.
• Working with Body Builder representative from vehicle manufacturers to maintain relationships and up to date vehicle details and body builder accreditation where available.
• Support both production and service with technical engineering support, as and when required.
• Liaising with the wider engineering community within the group on joint projects and general engineering knowledge transfer.

Skills and Qualifications for the Engineering Manager:

• Experienced user of CAD / PDM systems (Solid Works preferable).
• Must be Degree qualified BEng or equivalent.
• Professional affiliation with the UK Engineering Council; preferably via IMechE.
• A high degree of aptitude with a willingness to \xe2\x80\x9cget the job done\xe2\x80\x9d.
• The successful applicant must work well as part of a team with a dogmatic and deterministic approach.
• FEA and material properties knowledge.
• Must be adept in taking on a high level of responsibility and decision making on a day to day basis.
• A drive for continuous improvement, helping develop a strong engineering ethos across the business.
• Good experience of \xe2\x80\x9chands on\xe2\x80\x9d engineering and production engineering methodologies.
• Proven team player with critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Desirable for the Engineering Manager:

• Chartered Engineer with further advanced qualifications such as a Master\xe2\x80\x99s Degree.
• Experience of working with EPICOR would be advantageous.
• Working experience of EN280:2015.
• Understanding of body builder regulations.
