About the team


Rosalind is our Custom Data platform and systems for managing the collection and flow of Customer Data between websites, mobile apps, messaging and marketing platforms. We have a range of traditional MarTech as well as journey orchestration and analytics tools.

Our mission is to change how customer data is managed, from fragmented implementations to a coherent customer-data ecosystem of services dedicated to the collection and management of profiles and consents. Our goal is to improve customer experience and especially to improve patient outcomes through intelligent, inventive and compliant use of data collected as people interact with our customer-facing systems and assets.

Our team is named after Rosalind Franklin, an English chemist and X-ray crystallographer whose work was central to the understanding of the molecular structures of DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid), RNA (ribonucleic acid), viruses, coal, and graphite. We chose Rosalind as our muse to remind us of our work to make the invisible visible and help others discover the previously unknown by leveraging our data structures and services. The name also signals our team commitment to accomplishment through a careful focus on the work, and as a reminder of our commitment to recognize and value of the contributions of everyone.


Role Summary


Patient identity management though has for a long time been all but unsupported and \xe2\x80\x9cbare bones\xe2\x80\x9d. The vision for 2023 is to create a sister product to GRV to handle Patient Identities. \xe2\x80\x9cPRV\xe2\x80\x9d (final name yet to be chosen) will need to start small and targeted to the first moving projects that require it but with one eye on the vision of a holistic offering, merged with GRV at some point in the future.
We seek a Full Stack Engineering Lead to join the Rosalind team delivering \xe2\x80\x9cGlobal Patient Authentication\xe2\x80\x9d (GPA), which is the product that delivers Patient Identity management services for C4 assets.
GPA is based on Auth0 (now Okta) and integrated with various other services within C4\xe2\x80\x99s digital ecosystem. These include databases to manage consent, external account validation services and multiple AWS services. The work for 2024 includes implementing and migrating to a combined support model with another similar service targeting HCP users (GRV) and building out management and operational tooling such as ops dashboards, user profile management UIs and a preference center. Guiding the team to produce fit-for-purpose solutions is the ultimate measure of success, working closely with stakeholders and partner teams to discuss and understand vision, strategy and help everyone reach tactical next steps.

Key responsibilities will be leading the engineering efforts of the product team. This involves:

• Understanding the overall roadmap, context and direction of the product and key partner teams by being part of the conversations and helping shape the roadmap;
• Leading the estimation and working with the PO on prioritization of requirements;
• Working with Rosalind platform architects and Enterprise Architecture to create an appropriate solution architecture and technical design;
• Refining stories as part of team refinement sessions, bringing expertise to bear in defining the right solution design, acceptance criteria and testing criteria;
• Coordinating execution within the team, using agile development methods;
• Ensuring the team write documentation as required, including in-line code commentary, GitHub .MD documentation and confluence SDLC documentation that describes:
  o The purpose of the software;
  o The CI environment and deployment processes;
  o Development standards and processes;
  o Architecture, API and Design. Architectural Decision Records;
  o How to develop the application(s) locally as a new developer on the team;
  o Processes and checks for deployment to the cloud environments.

• Excellent knowledge of Stratus application development (Laravel, Vue.js);
• Excellent experience with AWS, including services such as API gateway, Lambda, ECS, S3, Pinpoint, SQS, SNS;
• Good working knowledge of OIDC flows and common Identity Products;
• Excellent experience writing automated tests (Unit, Integration, etc);
• Excellent experience with API-led development;
• Excellent experience with Agile team processes, including Scrum, Scrumban;
• Experience with the types of process problems that come when trying to build complex, new applications and comfortable when things are uncertain and require problem solving;
• Excellent experience estimating complex technical stories and breaking them down;
• Strong written and spoken English.
