Our Wales & Short Sea Ports (WSSP) division is the largest in terms of number of Ports comprising 16 of our 21 Ports. These ports are spread across East Anglia, Wales, South West, North West and Scotland and includes key Ports for British trade such as Cardiff, Ipswich and the Royal Port of Barrow. Due to a restructure within the Engineering team across the region we're looking to employ an experienced Engineering coordinator to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations within engineering.
Based from Newport, the role will play a critical cog in the continued exceptional SHE record we have. Ideally from an engineering background, you'll be responsible for compliance audits around the Health, Safety and Environmental aspects of the region. You will need to be able to drive risk assessments and safe systems of work across all 16 port, with a view to standardisation. The role will involve regular travel and visiting all the ports within the region on a quarterly basis.

Accountabilities Of The Role
To work in a safe and methodical manner to ABP's Safe Systems of Work and take an active part in risk assessments.
Understand and work to ABP's Permit to Work system.
Ensure all work is completed to appropriate standard in a timely manner.
Standardise all Risk assessments and Safe system of works across W&SSP.
Ensure all engineering activities comply with relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation.
Monitor and report on environmental performance and compliance.
Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with health & safety and environmental.
Any other duties required by the Engineering Planning Manager in order to contribute to the general efficiency of the Port
Skills & Experience
Essential
Experience of engineering preventative maintenance practices in heavy industry.
Competent in IT systems and productivity software
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to work as a team.
Have a flexible approach to service delivery.
A desire to help develop the role to best meet the requirements of ABP and customers.
Full UK driving Licence.
Ideal
Working knowledge of engineering/maintenance in a port industry would be desirable
Experience working with CMMS system
