Have you ever thought about growing your career with an organisation that operates on a global scale to deliver a first-class service for the UK government and our international partners? A career where you\'ll join our Digital, Data and Technology team and build, configure, transition, administer and support the technologies and solutions we use. A career where you\'ll work in a complex organisation which is at the forefront of the government\'s response to events which threaten the United Kingdom\'s security and prosperity. If you\'re looking for your job, but bigger, this could be your next move.
Develop your skills and expertise as you support our global mission
In detail, your tasks will include identifying operational problems and contributing to their resolution, and providing fellow specialists, users and managers with reports and proposals for improvement. Investigating faults in systems, processes and services, you\'ll advise on the implementation of solutions and preventative measures, take ownership of escalated incidents or service requests, and carry out technical investigations, diagnosis and the resolution of issues. We\'ll also expect you to work on document asset information, including the identification, classification and specification of all items, and associated storage, access and version information.
Use your programming and build skills to deliver results that make a real difference
We\'ll expect you to have well developed asset, configuration, incident, change and release management skills, and any experience of working within ITIL environments would be an advantage. A practical understanding of relevant tools such as ServiceNow, along with server infrastructure and networks knowledge would be desirable. As would a desire to enhance current scripting skills, automation and patching techniques, and the opportunity to work with various Linux Distros.
Grow your career in the biggest way possible
When you join us, you\'ll be contributing to protecting the nation\'s interests at home and overseas. How will we help you in return? We offer a competitive salary, 25 days annual leave per year and a Civil Service pension. Depending on business need, we can accommodate some hybrid working between the office and home. While on-site, you\'ll have access to an on-site gym, nursery, canteen, and we offer interest-free loans on season tickets and bikes to help you get there. Above all else, we can offer your job, bigger. As an Infrastructure Operations Engineer you\'ll be using all your skills with an organisation that protects people, information and assets around the world. Using your skills in a way that just means more.
All our employees have to be security cleared before joining us, so you will need to undergo a vetting process if you\'re successful in your application. This role would require you to undergo Developed Vetting (DV) clearance. You can find out more about vetting on our website.
Closing date for applications is: 30 th July 2023
