Overview:

Are you an experienced Employment Lawyer looking for a new challenge? We are recruiting for a Senior Knowledge Lawyer to drive and support knowledge, training, and skills development for our Employment Team.
This is a newly created role, and we are open to considering flexible and part-time working patterns, so please do get in touch if you are looking for autonomy and flexibility.

It's a varied role where you'll be instrumental in delivering the firm's knowledge strategy and driving business development initiatives. You'll capture technical legal knowledge and disseminate it to fee earners and clients.

Our people are at the heart of our 3-year strategy. You'll help guide and develop our Employment Lawyers by sharing knowledge, assisting fee-earners with technical queries and identifying training opportunities. You'll develop and update precedent documents, review processes, and aid business development through drafting articles and thought-leadership publications.

As the Employment Senior Knowledge Lawyer, you will:

Team Knowledge
Keep up to date with relevant employment law legal developments and communicate them to the team.. Assist fee-earners with technical research queries in relation to client matters. Devise and deliver technical training sessions to the junior members of the team as part of the Junior know-how programme. Liaise with the team regarding external training and manage the training calendar for the year. Assist with the management of our monthly know-how meetings. Help fee earners to identify suitable external training sessions to meet their development needs. Provide mentoring and coaching to junior fee earners.


Precedent DocumentsDevelop and update precedent documents, legal guides/manuals and practice notes to keep pace with legislative change, case law developments and defining work and best practice approaches. Work alongside fee earners to develop know-how and adding contributions to the precedent bank. Develop automated versions of key employment documents, such as consultancy agreements, service agreements and Tribunal documents. Review and maintain processes, checklists and other standardised documents to ensure fee earners and new joiners operate in an efficient and consistent manner. Work with other members of the knowledge and innovation teams to identify and support the development and implementation of efficiency enhancement projects across the team, promoting standard operating processes, knowledge systems and legal tech platforms.


Business developmentDraft articles and thought-leadership publications for social media and our quarterly employment newsletter. Draft commentary for external publications such as the FT, the Lawyer, Personnel Today, etc. Draft materials for use by fee earners in client training. Assist fee earners with preparation of documents for webinars. Help fee earners to prepare for client training/webinar delivery. Assist with the delivery of in-person client seminars and round table events. Draft speaking notes, conference papers and slide decks for fee earners speaking at external conferences. Assist with documents and preparations for external events such as conferences and BD initiatives. Assist with tender submissions and credentials documents. Liaise with the marketing team to identify and deliver thought leadership opportunities and prepare compelling and commercially focussed content to support such initiatives.

We are looking for someone who is/has:

Admitted as a solicitor in the UK. Minimum 8 years' post qualification experience as either a practising employment lawyer or knowledge lawyer. Excellent verbal and written English language skills. Excellent legal research and drafting skills. Experience of delivering training and presentations and an ability to present training in an engaging way. Strong attention to detail. Good communicator and an ability to build relationships with colleagues at all levels. Ability to develop and support junior members of the team with regard to technical knowledge. Responsive to the needs of fee earners. Be a dynamic and enthusiastic individual who is proactive and constantly striving to improve and develop themselves and the team.

Salary reflective of your experience. Earn up to 10% of your salary with our annual bonus scheme. Minimum of 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays per year increasing to 31 days with length of service, with the opportunity to buy/sell up to 5 days holiday per year.
