Job Description

Our Client, a global leader in satellite communications products, is looking for Embedded Software Engineers to join their existing team based at offices near Bradford.
Your experience in designing, developing and supporting software within engineering department will be key to successful development of satellite modem products.

About the role
You will be working alongside Firmware, Software, Test Validation and Senior Hardware
Engineers. The role will also include interfacing with Pre-Sales, Operations and the Customer to provide them with the optimal satellite network solutions.

Main responsibilities will include:

• Developing low-level embedded software for Linux operating system, Linux kernel development & Linux network programming.
• Embedded C and C++ programming for high-performance ARM processors or PowerPC.
• Experience programming hardware devices at register level. Interfacing with and understanding FPGA technology, experience of DSP, VHDL or digital electronics.
• Knowledge of IP networking protocols, routing, PPP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, iptables and infrastructure is essential.
• Good understanding of UART, SPI and I2C hardware interfaces.
• Knowledge of PCIe bus protocol.

About You

• Accomplished Software engineer with a minimum of 5 years\' experience within a similar role.
• A degree in relevant subject (e.g., software/ electronic engineering) or equivalent.
• Confident providing technical leadership and mentoring for a small development team (desirable but not essential).
• Experience at generating estimates and defining tasks for software product delivery (desirable but not essential).

• Salary: Flexible, depending on experience; \xc2\xa360,000 - \xc2\xa370,000
