Electrical/Electronics\' Project Design Engineer

Belcan are thrilled to announce the new position of Electronics Project Design Engineer within our Cheltenham office, which has the best culture and office environment Belcan has to offer.

We are looking for a hardworking and enthusiastic Engineer with the main purpose of joining the team, to design Electronics Circuits, PCB, Schematics, Layouts, working within or leading small to medium sized projects to successful completion - from full Industrial control installations, through to complex system test facilities, and automatic test equipment to test cables, test fixtures, automated process control and electro-mechanical systems.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Quotation of Work scopes
• Wide range of electronic design and compliance tasks
• Management of the customer\'s technical issues, SOW and Requirements.
• Liaise back to base with all customer opportunities and tasks.
• Maintain a customer log of all work, opportunities, and actions.
• To contribute to all aspects of the product design from an electronics and general engineering point of view.
• To design PCBs (Schematic capture, Layout, FMEA/Component rating analysis etc)
• To support R&D activities where needed, this may involve investigations to explore design ideas, or it may be to help qualify new component and technologies.
• Produce ad-hoc reports as well as being experienced in producing requirements, design, and test documentation.

Main responsibilities:

• Customer needs identification.
• Electronic Design Engineering to include FPGA, Analogue and digital design.
• Liaison between Customer and Design teams.
• UKCA/CE Compliance Engineering support.
• Effective communication and regular status reporting.
• Identification of risks and escalation to Programmes Manager.
• Preparation of quality control and testing documents.

Key skills:

• Electronic engineering skills - the ability to design circuit boards and test circuits from first principles.
• Strong understanding of digital & analogue design specially op-amp, filters, sensor etc
• Knowledge of configuration controls/PLM tools, Engineering data i.e. (dwgs/models/gerbers) & mechanical systems
• Understanding of.
• Documentation - ability to produce drawings and document sets for complex systems.
• Estimating - accurate estimating on engineering projects.
• Communication - the ability to communicate clearly with customers, colleagues, managers, and suppliers.

Drawings - CAD design, SolidWorks. Electrical.
Software skills - Altium, VHDL or similar, Libero - Microsemi.

Multitasking - The ability to work on multiple projects at the same time provides an interesting and challenging environment for the right candidate.

Qualifications and Experience:
Degree or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic engineering and several years\' experience in a professional engineering capacity, test engineering solutions, Electronic & PCB design.

Project management experience.
