As Electrical Project Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in lead and manage projects while overseeing technical processes and delivery. This unique role involves both project engineering (70%) and coordination aspects (30%), ensuring smooth collaboration among engineers. You will be part of RACE working in a robotics environment at the cutting edge of the fusion industry.

In this role you will be responsible for providing engineering support and capability to the Power Distribution Group, enable successful delivery of operation, maintenance, and enhancement of the Culham site power supply infrastructure and low voltage control systems, ensuring compliance with current legislation and codes of practice. You will lead and take full ownership for large work packages associated with complex HV/ LV electrical equipment, complex installation / modification tasks, and technical studies including preparation of documentation. You will have full responsibility for ensuring plant faults are quickly addressed and that proposed solutions are technically robust.

Additional Responsibilities:

- Manage specific work undertaken by the Power Distribution Group and all associated documentation.
- Ensuring compliance with current legislation and codes of practice; delivering them safely and effectively and implementing improvements.
- To manage multidisciplinary teams comprising electrical staff (up to level 5), agency supplied workers (ASW\'s) and external contractors where necessary, to support UKAEA operations.
- Take full ownership of relevant work packages ensuring all technical criteria are satisfied and that work can be carried out in a safe and cost-effective manner.
- Take responsibility for design, specification, procurement, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of assigned electrical systems.
- Preparation of engineering procedures, risk assessments, method statements and local rules in support of the Power Distribution Group\'s requirements.

Qualifications

Essential Requirements:

- Bachelor\'s degree or HNC/ HND or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
- Extensive experience obtained following award of the qualification, in an electrical engineering role in an industrial hazardous or harsh environment and professional experience which demonstrates an ability to work at this level.
- Demonstrable knowledge of large distribution networks.
- Experience of preparing safety documentation including risk assessments, method statements and using a formal permit system for work on complex, hazardous electrical plant.
- Experience of issuing electrical isolations on Low Voltage systems, including racking out of air circuit breakers.
