Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Estimator to join our team. The candidate in this role working for a small M & E company will be responsible for project costs, by analysing tenders, specifications and drawings.

The candidate will be part of the company for work loads. Transport provided.

Responsibilities

Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects based on specifications, drawings, and site visits. Conduct thorough analysis of project requirements and scope to identify potential risks and opportunities for cost savings. Collaborate with project managers and engineers to gather necessary information for accurate estimations. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials, and labour costs to ensure competitive pricing. Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing information. Monitor project budgets throughout the lifecycle, providing updates and recommendations for cost control measures as needed. Assist in preparing bid proposals and presentations for clients, ensuring clarity and professionalism in all communications.

Requirements

Proven experience as an Estimator or in a similar role within the construction or engineering industry. Strong understanding of cost control principles and practices. Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy in calculations. Proficient in using estimation software. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex information clearly. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated. Relevant qualifications in construction management, engineering, or a related field are advantageous but not essential.
