This role is an essential part of the Project and Engineering team and the successful postholder will focus their efforts on supporting the growth of Glass Futures and will be instrumental in contributing to the continued success of this high-profile and not-for-profit organisation.

Collaborating with leading industry experts from the glass and technology sectors and due to the nature of the business and our St Helens project (Centre of Excellence), a strong background in industry is highly advantageous for this role, however we are also open to hearing from exceptional experienced candidates with a wide scope of experience, demonstrable transferable skills, and core values aligned with our own to become an essential part of our team.

Core Responsibilities:



Provide valuable support to the wider CAPEX/Engineering Project Team Full ownership of assigned project engineering works Coordinate, lead and manage meetings in relation to the design and effective communication of Glass Futures' pilot site Establish and deliver design/function proposals Collaborate and engage with colleagues, contractors and various stakeholders Coordinate and supervise onsite contractors, delivering regular inductions in line with Glass Futures SOPs and SSOWs Execute sound commercial acumen working closely with procurement for the purchase of materials, OEM equipment and services in line with allocated budgets Practice and reinforce Glass Future's safety policies

We are looking for a distinguished Electrical Project Engineer that considers themselves an effective communicator, and a strong leader with a strategist mindset, to maximise project efficiency and profitability.



Person Specification:



Industry experience is ideal, although consideration is given to those with transferable skills Practical experience within an engineering or similar environment and understanding of R&D/not-for-profit background Commercial acumen to support estimation costs and working within strict budgets Experience with high value capital projects and the planning and implementation of asset maintenance Confident in understanding, developing and the implementation of projects Confident communicator with stakeholders, contractors and colleagues Proactive in identifying solutions Team player - works collaboratively and flexibly to achieve outcomes and is keen to add value to the organisations culture and ethos Demonstrable experience of managing a diverse workload; being able to prioritise tasks and work under pressure Ability to learn procedures so the organisation is compliant with relevant confidentiality and IP policies Flexible, positive and adaptable, willing to undertake a wide variety of tasks

Desirable Skills/Qualifications:



Time served Electrical or Multi skilled biased Engineer HND/HNC Engineering degree (or equivalent) Minimum two years' experience in the implementation of electrical and machine projects NEBOSH/IOSH qualification BS 7671: 2022 (18th Edition) accredited MV/HV experience (C&G 6037 desirable) Prince2, Lean Project Management qualification (or equivalent) Familiarity with machine safety system standards Comfortable in interpreting Electrical and Mechanical drawings Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with various teams An articulate and confident communicator Experience with PTWs, RAMS approval and contractor management

Salary:



43,000-48,000 depending on experience

Working Hours:



Full time, Monday to Friday 37.5 hours - we work flexibly within our core hours of 8am-4pm to support essential work life balance.

Location:



This role is site-based role at our St Helens facility with possible requirements for occasional travel (national/international).

Holidays:



27 days holiday plus bank holidays (FTE), pro rata may apply.
