Job Description

A vacancy has arisen to join Tunnock's Biscuits, manufacturer of the world-renowned Caramel Wafers and Teacakes at our factory in Uddingston, for an Electrical Engineer.

This is a dayshift role, working 39 hours as follows:

Monday -Thursday: 07:00 to 15:30

Friday: 07:00 to 14:30

Job Purpose:

Working as part of the maintenance team and working closely with production, you will play a vital role in enhancing line efficiency, reducing breakdowns and optimising machine performance by:

Role

Conduct reactive and preventative maintenance across the factory, analysing line performance, identifying problem areas and root causes to develop solutions; Diagnose and resolve issues related to PLC hardware and software and conduct routine maintenance and updates as required; Developing, maintaining and optimising our site's PLC systems to enhance efficiency and reliability. On site we have Allen Bradley, Siemens and Mitsubishi PLCs; Working with Robotic systems, Servo controls, Air & Pneumatic Systems and Electrical equipment to 415 vac on a daily basis; Communicate unscheduled downtime to the Maintenance/Production Managers; Compliance with Health and safety and other business guidelines is critical.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

A Qualified Electrician with good Mechanical Engineering skills is essential. Proven experience of PLC and SCADA systems and reading programming languages. Experience within a food production/manufacturing environment would be advantageous. Should have a proactive approach to fault finding and a commitment to continuous improvement. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team, will be key to success.
