About the Role

As an Editorial Assistant, you will support the editorial team in creating and producing high-quality content. Your main purpose will be to assist with research, fact-checking, proofreading, and formatting of articles and publications. You will also be responsible for managing the editorial calendar and providing administrative support to the team.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the Editors in tracking manuscripts from submission to publication
  • Assisting with the maintenance of our databases
  • Overseeing efficient and accurate filing and file retrieval
  • Willing to help editors to work as efficiently as possible.
  • Creating and producing Lancet metrics reports, and to refine and present results efficiently in Excel
  • Assisting with the production and analysis of statistical data
Requirements
  • Educated to degree level (2:1 minimum) or equivalent in a medical science related subject is essential. Previous administrative or publishing experience
  • Have excellent English language skills, with sound communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work independently, but also be an excellent team player
  • Have excellent organisational skills with a can-do approach to work and highly interested in medical publishing
  • Have essential computer skills include familiarity with database management. Proficient in using Microsoft Office packages
