Descripcion

The eDiscovery Attorney plays a key role in reviewing legal documents and managing eDiscovery legal projects, ensuring compliance with discovery obligations and advising internal stakeholders on best practices for handling ESI. This role involves overseeing legal holds, coordinating with IT and compliance teams, working in concert with outside counsel and vendors, and ensuring defensible and efficient eDiscovery strategies that align with litigation and regulatory needs.

Key Responsibilities:
Legal Hold & Data Preservation:

Work closely with IT and business units to identify and preserve relevant data. Ensure defensible preservation strategies that mitigate risk and meet legal requirements.

Document Review & Production Oversight:

Oversee internal and external document review workflows, leveraging TAR and analytics where applicable. Coordinate document productions with internal and counsel case teams, IT department, and vendors. Ensure compliance with discovery agreements, protective orders, and production specifications.

eDiscovery Strategy & Case Management:

Assist with the development of case-specific eDiscovery strategies in litigation, investigations, and regulatory matters. Provide legal guidance on proportionality, scope, and defensibility of discovery efforts.

Vendor & Outside Counsel Management:

Assist in evaluating, selecting, and managing eDiscovery service providers based on capabilities, security, and corporate needs. Work closely with outside counsel to align discovery strategy with corporate objectives. Ensure vendor and law firm workflows meet legal and corporate requirements for defensibility and efficiency.

eDiscovery Legal Project Work:

Assist in managing the legal aspects of eDiscovery projects, ensuring adherence to legal requirements, deadlines, and best practices. Develop and refine Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for legal discovery workflows. Support internal investigations and regulatory inquiries by advising on defensible data collection and review strategies.

Technology & Process Optimization:

Oversee the use of eDiscovery platforms (e.g., Relativity, Everlaw, Exterro, Reveal, DISCO) to streamline workflows. Leverage AI-driven analytics and automation to improve efficiency and reduce costs. Assist in identifying opportunities to enhance legal team collaboration through better eDiscovery processes.

Training & Internal Advisory:

Provide training to legal, IT, and compliance teams on eDiscovery best practices. Conduct post-matter reviews to improve internal eDiscovery processes.
