Are you an experienced eCommerce Manager, passionate about creating an excellent customer experience across consumer-facing platforms?

In this newly created 2-year FTC role, our eCommerce Manager will develop and own our eCommerce strategy to drive and grow online sales across our Penguin Books shop. You\'ll manage all activity related to merchandising, sales and reporting and monitor The Penguin Shop daily.

We\'re looking for someone who\'s excited to pitch new product and service ideas, with the aim of creating an excellent and cohesive customer experience that delights and engages those that visit The Penguin Shop.

This role has been designed to be at the heart of our customer\'s experience in The Penguin Shop and the role holder will work collaboratively with our in-house web and technical teams to deliver products and services that meet our Brand strategy and bring us closer to our customers. We want you to champion agile working to deliver continuous service improvement and an exceptional customer experience to end-users.

About Brand

Our Brand division houses a number of central areas of specialist expertise which support and work closely with Penguin\'s nine publishing houses to connect our books and authors with readers. The department, made up of around 65 people, includes experts from digital marketing, brand, communications, design, consumer insights, events production and more.

The iconic Penguin brand - the only consumer-facing brand in publishing - sits at the heart of what we do. With the recent rapid growth in online sales, we have an exciting opportunity to leverage the power of our brand to help new and different readers discover our books and to champion the causes we care about.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

Working with the Head of Digital Channels to define the strategy and growth opportunities for our Penguin Shop

Creating and managing acquisition strategies to attract quality traffic, sales and brand awareness

Defining site enhancements and initiatives to optimise customer experience across the entire journey

Tracking stock, fulfilling orders and managing both customer and internal platform queries

Overseeing design and development of The Penguin Shop and incorporate best practices, providing any technical requirements or enhancements for the platform

Monitoring web analytics and continuously improving the results of key sales journeys

Supervising all activities and channel development working closely with our web development and technical teams to improve quality and traffic acquisition

Researching the market to discover new trends and technologies in order to improve the commercial performance of our website

Candidate Profile:

Experience in a similar e-commerce role with good working knowledge of Shopify

Excellent understanding of UX, web design, consumer flow and web analysis

Confidence in traffic analysis, reporting tools and optimisation (Search, Adobe Analytics, Hotjar)

Knowledge of attribution modelling, website speed optimisation, A/B testing, conversion management, sales journey optimisation, traffic analysis and reporting tools

Strong collaboration skills with partnership experience across functional teams

For this role, there are regular meetings and activities that you will need to attend in person mainly at our offices in Nine Elms near Vauxhall. Outside of these moments, you can choose to work remotely.

The exact balance of office to remote working can be discussed with your future manager during the recruitment process. What we can say now is that you won\'t need to go into the office five days a week (unless of course you want to!)

Salary: \xc2\xa350,000 - \xc2\xa360,000 depending on how your skills and experience align to the role, plus benefits.
