E Commerce Assistant

Job Description

The E-commerce Assistant will be responsible for managing the online presence of starrymart.co.uk and other platforms, including product listings, basic digital marketing support, and customer service. This role requires strong organisational and communication skills, experience with e-commerce operations, and the ability to collaborate with various internal teams in a fast-paced environment, with fluency in Mandarin or Cantonese being essential.

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:



Website & Platform Management (starrymart.co.uk & other e-commerce platform)

: Uploading new products, ensuring product listings are accurate and visually appealing, and optimizing for search engines.

Digital Marketing:

Supporting digital marketing campaigns, including email marketing, social media promotions, simple promotion banner creation and SEO.

Customer Service:

Assisting with customer inquiries and resolving issues.

Administrative Support:

Providing administrative support to the e-commerce team, which may include data analysis and reporting.

Collaboration:

Working with other teams, such as IT, buying, fulfilment, and marketing, to ensure smooth operations.

Essential Skills and Experiences:



Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in Business, Marketing, or a related field. Demonstrated experience managing e-commerce platforms and a proven track record of contributing to online sales growth. Strong understanding of e-commerce best practices and online customer journeys. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise professionally with various stakeholders. Great organisational and time-management skills, including the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Adaptability and resilience, with the ability to remain calm and effective under pressure. A proactive approach to problem-solving and a keen eye for detail. Genuine interest in technology and a willingness to learn new tools and platforms. An interest in working with multiple brands, particularly within the consumer goods and e-commerce sectors.

Preferred Skills & Experience:



Familiarity with SEO principles and best practices for optimising product listings and driving organic traffic. Academic background in Computer Science or Digital Marketing. Familiarity with Asian food and everyday essentials brands and a basic understanding of the relevant consumer market. Proficiency in using MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with Adobe Photoshop and/or Adobe Illustrator for basic image editing and creation.
