We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Years practitioner to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood play, care and education and a genuine love for working with young children. This role involves creating a nurturing and stimulating environment that promotes the social, emotional, and cognitive development of children in our care. The Early Years practitioner will work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the highest standards of care and education are maintained. The centre has a focus on out door learning and at least one session per week will take place outdoors.
Current Hours:
Monday - Thursday 12- 4.30pm with an additional hour for staff meetings on a Wednesday afternoon
Duties
Plan and implement engaging activities tailored to the developmental needs of children.
Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment for all children.
Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to build positive relationships.
Observe and assess children's progress, documenting their development in line with early years frameworks.
Manage classroom behaviour and promote positive interactions among children.
Support children's emotional well-being by providing guidance and encouragement.
Collaborate with other practitioners to share best practices and enhance the learning experience.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the nursery setting.
Qualifications
Experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting is essential.
A qualification in Early Childhood Education or equivalent is preferred.
Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
Ability to manage groups of children effectively while promoting a positive learning atmosphere.
Leadership qualities to inspire and motivate both children and colleagues.
A genuine drive to support children's learning and development through creative play-based activities.
Knowledge of current early years education frameworks is advantageous.
Forest schools experience or training would be an advantage.
