: To provide a stimulating and secure environment in which children can holistically develop in their own individual way with support, guidance and sensitivity from practitioners and to supervise practitioners in base room to ensure that they are working within their contract, policies and procedures and role specification at all times.
Duties and Responsibilities
:
Care and Education
To provide learning experiences and routines which meet the requirements as detailed in the Early Years Foundation Stage framework;
To have knowledge of this Framework, including the Statutory Framework for the EYFS and to work within this framework at all times;
To have knowledge of and work in accordance with the Policies and Procedures
To work in accordance with the Employee Code of Conduct;
To work efficiently in the capacity of key person and key worker,
To plan learning experiences and routines for key children from their individual interests and to promote their holistic development;
To observe and record key children's progress using a variety of recordable methods, and to ensure that planning reflects these observations;
To keep accurate records of each key child's development and progress in the form of development files and profile, both hard copies and using the Nursery software systems;
To provide accurate and detailed summative reports when required, which reflect each child's capabilities, strengths and weaknesses and effectively plan next steps to support each child's individual progress;
To work in partnership with parents, carers and families in supporting children's care and education, both in the setting and at home
To comply with all of the Company's record keeping requirements, both in relation to human resources and child-centric record keeping;
To work in accordance with health and safety legislation highlighted in the Company's Employee Handbook or Policies and Procedures;
To attend staff meetings, which may take place outside operating hours, where required.
Coordinator
To provide supervision to practitioners who are working alongside, whether employed directly through the company or through a third party, such as an employment agency;
To support practitioners in understanding their job role and to provide guidance where needed;
To alert the management team promptly of any issues or concerns arising;
To provide a stimulating, inviting and professional base room environment for children, families and professionals, including hallway and room displays;
To ensure that base room is providing a high quality of care and education;
To act as a role model for other members of staff and be an inspirational and motivational team leader;
To provide supervisions for staff where required;
To provide appraisals on staff where required;
To read any research or other reports provided to you by the Management Team as part of continued professional development;
To attend Coordinator meetings that may be scheduled during breaks or outside of the setting's operating hours.
Mentoring
To act as a Mentor to new members of staff working in base room;
To support to develop, with the Management Team, the staff member's induction;
To support and guide the staff member in understanding how the Nursery operates, its policies and procedures, its rules and its ethos;
To show staff member where documents can be found, how documentation is completed and other important elements of their job role.

Experience
Experience of working within the EYFS, Birth to Three Matters and/or the Foundation Stage
Qualifications
A Cache Level 3 Diploma or equivalent and a
Willingness to undertake further training as appropriate
