Wage/Salary: \xc2\xa316.00 gross per hour

Driver Essential? Yes \xe2\x80\x93 manual car to use on shift.
Essential: *Female only. Experience supporting children or adults with learning and physical disabilities. Ability to cook. Personal care experience and experience supporting someone with epilepsy.

Desirable: A confident swimmer.
Start Date: ASAP
Days & Hours: 2.00pm to 8.00pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.

About this client/child:

Francesca, 21, is a joyful and vibrant young lady. She lives at home with her Dad and has many activities and places she enjoys visiting. Francesca attends an Adult Day Centre throughout the week, where she socialises, participates in activities such as arts, cooking, music, dance groups and more. Francesca loves taking selfie videos on her iPad, going to Cafes, having a foot spa as a treat, listening to stories, interactive toys, and her soft Broccoli toys. Most of all, Francesca loves cuddles! Francesca was born with Global Developmental Delay and chromosomal anomalies; She is very small for her age and has epilepsy although this is controlled with medication. Francesca is non-verbal and through gestures, facial expressions or physically showing you. She can walk short distances and will use her chair if the distance is longer than 10 to 15 minutes as she can get very tired.

Overview of role:

Francesca requires a *Female support worker to collect her from her day centre and support her throughout the afternoon until 8.00pm. She relies on an adult for all her needs, but her Dad would like to foster greater independence in toileting and feeding, with basic visual/ auditory cues where feasible. Her preferred routine, (which she loves!), is to go out for a couple of hours \xe2\x80\x93 swimming, theatre (such as Julia Donaldson or The Tiger Who Came to Tea), cafes, park, museum, or an event of interest, and then come home for some dinner, play, relax and have a bath. Francesca loves her bath and needs support to have one each day before bed. Her dad does some batch cooking, and Francesca\xe2\x80\x99s support worker will assist with this too, to add to the variety of meals. Francesca\xe2\x80\x99s Dad will do the shopping so there are plenty of ingredients to make delicious dinners with. Hours: 2.00pm to 8.00pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Wage: \xc2\xa316.00 gross per hour.

This job would suit an experienced *Female Support Worker with a gentle and nurturing approach, someone who has a passion for caring and supporting someone to have as much independence as they can. A support worker who is happy to keep up a routine that suits this family, with a good level of cooking skills.
