The Role:



We are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Duty Manager to join our team at Crewe Market Hall. This pivotal role will be responsible for the smooth day-to-day operations of the Market Hall, with a particular focus on overseeing our diverse food and beverage units. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in the food and beverage industry, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities:



Operational Management: Oversee the daily operations of Crewe Market Hall, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for traders and visitors.

Food & Beverage Unit Oversight: Act as a key point of contact for food and beverage vendors, providing support, guidance, and ensuring compliance with operational standards, health and safety regulations, and licensing requirements.

Trader Support: Build positive relationships with all market traders, addressing queries, resolving issues, and fostering a collaborative and supportive community.

Customer Service Excellence: Ensure the highest standards of customer service are maintained throughout the Market Hall, proactively addressing customer needs and feedback.

Health & Safety: Monitor and enforce health and safety procedures, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and internal policies. Conduct regular walk-throughs and address any potential hazards.

Security & Safety: Be responsible for the security and safety of the Market Hall during operating hours, responding to incidents and liaising with security personnel as required.

Cash Handling & Reporting: Oversee cash handling procedures, ensuring accuracy and security. Assist with daily reconciliation and reporting as required.

Problem Solving: Act as the first point of contact for operational issues, resolving them efficiently and effectively. Escalate complex issues to the Market Hall Manager as necessary.

Teamwork & Communication: Work collaboratively with other members of the Market Hall team, maintaining clear and effective communication.

Opening & Closing Procedures: Be responsible for opening and/or closing the Market Hall according to established procedures.

Event Support: Assist with the setup and execution of events and activities held within the Market Hall.

Deputising: Deputise for the Market Hall Manager in their absence, taking responsibility for overall operations.

Ideal Candidate Profile:



Proven Experience: A strong background and demonstrable experience within the food and beverage industry is highly desirable, ideally in a supervisory or management role.

Leadership Skills: Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and guide others.

Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with traders, customers, and colleagues.

Problem-Solving Abilities: Ability to think critically and solve problems effectively and calmly under pressure.

Customer Focus: A genuine passion for delivering exceptional customer service.

Organisational Skills: Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.

Knowledge of Regulations: A good understanding of health and safety regulations, food hygiene standards, and licensing requirements relevant to the food and beverage industry.

Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.

Team Player: A positive and collaborative team player.

IT Literate: Comfortable using basic IT systems and potentially point-of-sale (POS)

Pay: 26,000.00-30,000.00 per year
