Job Title: Duty Manager - Wine Bar and Restaurant
Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant General Manager to join our team. As the Assistant General Manager, you will play a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of our establishment, ensuring exceptional service, managing staff, and contributing to the overall success of the wine bar and restaurant.
Responsibilities:
1. Operational Excellence:
- Oversee daily operations to ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of the wine bar and restaurant.
- Maintain high standards of service quality, cleanliness, and overall guest satisfaction.
- Assist in the development and implementation of operational policies and procedures.
2. Staff Management:
- Recruit, train, and supervise staff to deliver exceptional customer service.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
3. Customer Service:
- Ensure an exceptional guest experience by addressing customer concerns and feedback promptly and professionally.
- Train staff on customer service best practices and uphold the brand's service standards.
4. Wine Program Management:
- Assist in curating and updating the wine list, ensuring it aligns with the concept and meets customer preferences.
- Provide staff with ongoing wine education to enhance their product knowledge and sales abilities.
5. Financial Management:
- Work closely with the General Manager to develop and manage budgets.
- Monitor financial performance and implement cost control measures without compromising service quality.
6. Events and Promotions:
- Collaborate with the marketing team to plan and execute events and promotions that drive customer engagement and revenue.
- Develop creative initiatives to increase foot traffic and boost sales during special occasions.
7. Stock Control:
- Manage and optimize inventory levels, minimizing waste and ensuring product freshness.
- Implement effective inventory control systems to track stock levels and prevent shortages.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a managerial role within the hospitality industry, preferably in a wine bar or upscale restaurant.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of wines and the ability to educate and inspire staff.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and basic financial reporting.
- A passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
Education and Certifications:
- Certification in wine studies or equivalent experience is a plus. WSET level 2 and 3 training will be provided within the 1st year of the role.
