Job Summary

Join our Special Educational Needs transport team taking children (and young adults) between home and school. Work term time only - get paid throughout the year!

Drivers who are already licensed for Private Hire through Newark & Sherwood District Council will be very welcome (and may receive a 'signing on bonus' up to 250!)

We are currently looking to recruit in the following areas:-

Newark & local areas Bilsthorpe Edwinstowe Ollerton Mansfield and local areas (Woodhouse, Clipstone, Forest Town etc)
Work 38 school term time weeks but get paid all year.

We're looking for part time (16-30hrs a week) drivers and passenger assistants to join our Special Needs School Transport team to transport disabled children & young adults between home and school & day centres.

Hours are generally between 7:30-10am and 2:45-5pm Monday to Friday during school term time.

It's an incredibly rewarding job to help these disabled and vulnerable people and reliability and punctuality are very important; as is a caring attitude.

Drivers who are already licensed for Private Hire through Newark & Sherwood District Council will be very welcome (and may receive a 'signing on bonus' up to 250!); alternatively, the successful candidates for the driving role will be put through licensing at our cost which takes about 6 weeks. You'll have a free medical check and vehicles awareness assessment; and undergo a Disclosure & Barring Service (criminal record) check prior to any job offer.

A knowledge of Autism, Epilepsy, First Aid and disabilities will be an advantage. But training will be given.

Based in North Nottinghamshire (Edwinstowe), Carry Care is a leading Special Educational Needs transport provider for Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire & Lincolnshire County Councils.

You will work the school term 38 weeks but be paid over the whole year. Although we do have some adult day centre contracts that operate 52 weeks of the year too.

Responsibilities and Duties

Drivers keep the vehicle at home. Passenger Assistants are collected from home by the driver. Driving a minibus style vehicle, Monday to Friday during school term time. Collecting school children to take them to school in the mornings, and home again in the afternoons. Helping disabled children onto the vehicle and securing their wheelchairs. Keeping the vehicle clean and checking oil/water/tyres daily. Supervising children whilst on transport between home and school.
