Driver - mobile dental unit

Location: Totton, Southampton and various

Reporting to: Fleet Supervisor

Salary: 13.50 per hour

Are you a caring/compassionate individual? If so Dentaid the dental charity is looking for experienced drivers to join their fleet.

Our primary function is to deliver mobile dental units to the most vulnerable in society. The person we are looking for will have to be flexible (there will be a certain number of overnight trips) and be a think out of the box problem solver able to multi task. They need have a positive "can do" attitude with great interpersonal skills and be totally customer focussed in what can be challenging environments. For the right person this is rewarding work providing dental care to people who otherwise could not access treatment. We aim for all our service users to leave with a smile.

We do require that the right person is fit and active though age is not necessarily a barrier. However, there is a certain amount of physical work required. For example, each dental unit will have to be prepared for the day which involves loading/unloading equipment. Setting up the unit on site including using hydraulics, generators and other mechanical equipment. In addition, upholding cleanliness and appearance of vehicle at all times together with teamwork to see the patients through the system. This includes maintaining patient confidentiality at all times and respectful team work with our dentists and other staff.

Full UK driving licence with no points including a C1 endorsement.

Experience driving a 7.5 tonne vehicle

Transferable Enhanced DBS (Dentaid will apply for it if not held)
