Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Driver to join our team at Essex Prestige Autos Ltd. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting vehicles safely and efficiently while maintaining excellent communication with both clients and dealership staff. This role requires a strong understanding of vehicle operation, including flatbed and van driving, as well as mechanical knowledge to handle minor repairs and routine vehicle maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate various types of vehicles, including flatbeds, vans, and dealership vehicles (manual and automatic). Collect and deliver vehicles between branches, customers, service centres, and trade partners. Ensure the safe loading, unloading, and transportation of vehicles, adhering to all safety regulations. Perform routine inspections of vehicles, checking for fuel, tyre condition, cleanliness, and reporting any mechanical issues. Maintain accurate delivery records, including times, locations, and any incidents during transport. Communicate effectively with warehouse personnel, service teams, and customers regarding schedules and any potential delays. Assist with the organisation and presentation of vehicles on-site. Support the service and sales teams with ad hoc driving or vehicle preparation tasks. Assist in the warehouse when needed, including inventory management and organisation of goods.

Requirements:

Full, clean UK driving licence covering manual and automatic vehicles (commercial licence experience preferred but not essential). Experience operating flatbed lorries or vans is highly desirable. Strong mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting. Previous experience as a delivery driver, dealership driver, or in a similar role is advantageous. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. High commitment to safety standards and road regulation compliance.
