Dot Esports, the premier destination for esports coverage online, is looking for freelance writers based in the United Kingdom & Europe to join our writers room. This is a freelance and fully remote role as part of our global, digital newsroom.

Interested candidates should have in-depth knowledge of at least one of the esports/video games listed below and must be comfortable writing guides and news about additional games. This is a great opportunity to cover the games and competitions you love while working with one of the best teams in esports journalism! Applicants should be self-starters who are eager to learn and respond well to constructive criticism.

Responsibilities:

  • Help cover news and guides around game releases
  • Work with editors to develop pitches
  • Meet deadlines for publishing stories
  • Follow trending topics through Google Trends and Twitter
  • Write a minimum of 20 stories per month
  • In-depth knowledge of at least one of the following games/subjects:
  • Call of Duty
  • Valorant
  • Pok\xc3\xa9mon
  • Nintendo (especially the Switch)
  • AAA games
  • FPS games
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of experience in the writing industry (preferably in gaming)
  • SEO knowledge
  • Someone open-minded and positive
Rates: $16 - $90 USD per article depending on article length.
