Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our vibrant and friendly team. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for animals and the ability to provide exceptional care in a busy kennel environment. As a Kennel Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the health and well-being of the guests in our care while also providing excellent customer service to pet owners.

Duties

Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising dogs , candidates must be physically fit. Maintain cleanliness of kennels, play areas, and equipment to ensure a safe and hygienic environment. Monitor the health and behaviour of animals, reporting and registration of daily guest data Assist with administering medications as directed by vet Engage with pet owners, providing updates on their pets' well-being and addressing any questions or concerns. Support the team with heavy lifting tasks, such as moving large bags of food or cleaning supplies. Participate in training sessions to enhance animal care skills and customer service techniques. Reception duties , accepting phone calls and booking enquiries , computer skills required for online customer booking system Pet photography for the DOGWOOD social media

Skills

Previous experience in animal care or veterinary settings is highly desirable. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners. Physical capability for heavy lifting and performing manual tasks associated with animal care. A genuine passion for animal welfare and the ability to handle various breeds safely and compassionately. Attention to detail and strong organisational skills to maintain records accurately.
