About the role



Balfour Beatty Ground Engineering is looking for a skilled and proactive

Document Controller

to support work on our

Devonport Dockyard

Project in Plymouth. The Project is a high profile naval base refurbishment and we are looking for someone to support long term.



As part of our

Regional Civils

team you'll play a key role in managing and controlling documentation across a complex, high-profile construction environment. You'll support the project team, supply chain, and external stakeholders to ensure the accurate handling, tracking, and sharing of information--helping us deliver excellence from the ground up.

What you'll be doing



As a

Document Controller

you will:




Manage all document workflows for the project, including registration, version control, and archiving Maintain and improve document control systems and platforms used by the project team and subcontractors. Provide guidance, coaching, and training to teams and partners on document control processes and tools Carry out quality checks on incoming and outgoing documentation to ensure consistency and traceability Assist in preparing and managing handover packages, including Lifetime Quality Records (LTQRs), Health & Safety Files, and O&M Manuals Liaise with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, acting as a central point of contact for document control matters.


Who we're looking for

You will have the following:






Previous Document Control experience Experience using digital progressive assurance systems and electronic forms Qualification in construction, project management, or a related discipline Proven experience in document control within construction, engineering, or major projects Confident communicator who works well in multi-disciplinary teams. Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, with a good understanding of digital tools.
