Who we are:
Renfrewshire Valuation Joint Board is an independent public authority that was established by The Valuation Joint Boards (Scotland) Order 1995.
What we do:
Provide a professional valuation and electoral registration service for the Renfrewshire, East Renfrewshire & Inverclyde Council areas in respect of compilation and maintenance of the Valuation Rolls, Valuation (Council Tax) Lists and Registers of Electors.

Who are we looking for:
You will be part of the Management Team responsible for the efficient day to day organisation and planned future development of the Board\'s practices and involved with the setting of strategy for the Board\'s long term aims. This role is accountable to the Senior Management Team and is predominantly accountable for ensuring delivery of the statutory functions for both Council Tax and Non-Domestic Rating across the Board\'s three constituent authorities.
You will be responsible for leading, managing and directing a team of professional, technical, and, where appropriate, administrative and clerical staff. You will determine and manage the workload of a valuation section, ensuring the timeous completion of all allocated work in line with statutory timetables and internal performance targets. You will also manage the disposal of rating proposals and appeals in the statutory timeframe; this will involve liaising with the First and Upper Tier Tribunals and acting as advocate in formal appeal hearings etc. The role is responsible for preparing and delivering Non-Domestic Revaluations, working autonomously as required to ensure key deliverables are met.
Applicants should be a Chartered Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and have excellent knowledge of and fully conversant in the law and practice of Non-Domestic Rating and Council Tax, with Revaluation experience including the preparation of valuation practice notes. You should have a successful record at operational management level, with experience of leading or managing change, together with extensive practical experience in the valuation and appeal disposal of all types of subjects for Non-Domestic Rating and Council Tax. Applicants should also be aware of the Board\'s corporate governance obligations including information governance responsibilities.
Applicants must have proven leadership and motivational skills together with excellent time management and written/oral communication skills. You will have the ability to analyse information and develop strategic plans as well as having analytical and problem-solving skills. You should also have the proven ability to work under pressure while ensuring strict deadlines are achieved.
A full driving licence and use of a car for business purposes is essential for this role.
