We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, and highly motivated individual with experience in leading Children and Young Peoples services to join the Children's Surgery and Critical Care Directorate as the Head of Nursing and Professions . This pivotal role will involve overseeing nursing and other key clinical staff, ensuring the highest standards of care, safety, and patient experience for the children, young people and families we serve. This role will work in a quadrumvirate and closely alongside the Head of Nursing and Professions for the Children's Medicine and Emergency Directorate. which together forms Nottingham Children's Hospital.



You will work within your role with the Family Health Clinical Care Group Leadership team to shape the strategic direction and service delivery for the directorate, ensuring that clinical care and professional practice are continuously improved and aligned with the Trust's values.



Key Responsibilities include:



Lead and manage nursing and allied health professional teams within the Surgical and Critical Care Directorate .



Ensure the delivery of high-quality, compassionate, and safe patient care through effective clinical governance.



Provide expert clinical leadership and guidance to nursing and AHP staff.



Collaborate with senior multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement service improvements and initiatives.



Develop and maintain strong relationships with other healthcare professionals, both within the Trust and externally.



Oversee the management of budgets, resources, and staffing across the Directorate.



Promote a culture of continuous learning, development, and improvement, ensuring the Directorate remains at the forefront of clinical practice.



Contribute to Trust-wide strategic planning, policies, and clinical initiatives.

The role will be primarily based at the Queens Medical Hospital but with an expectation to also cover the City Hospital site if required.
