We have a unique opportunity for a Director to join the Deloitte Tax and Trade Policy team to help our firm and our clients best understand this changing landscape and how to navigate it.

We are recruiting for a Director to join our Tax Policy team in London advising Deloitte and our clients on policy development.

The successful individual will drive understanding of UK Government policy and shape Deloitte\'s view - being the repository of expertise for the rest of the firm.

Dealing with a broad range of technical matters covering areas such as UK Corporation Tax, Windfall tax, Banking tax, use of losses, analysis of case law and practice development. Applying practical and commercial concepts to all areas of technical work, including analysing legislation, reviewing technical guidance and responding to consultations.

You will also be shaping Deloitte\'s tax position, representing the firm across various forums and manage external relationships. While in turn, building relationships across Deloitte\'s practice of 4,000 tax professionals.

Connect to your skills and professional experience

• Proven experience in corporate tax gained from an in-house role within a financial institution, from an accountancy/legal/advisory firm, or HMRC
• An ACA or CTA qualification or equivalent
• A demonstrated track record of leadership and working closely with accounting standard setters, regulators with an outstanding reputation as a trusted subject matter expert
• Excellent interpersonal and client service skills to partner with businesses and peers
• Ability to work autonomously and to lead other senior members as well as junior members of the team
• Strong communication and written skills

Personal independence

Regulation and controls are standard practice in our industry and Deloitte is no exception. These controls provide important legal protection for both you and the firm. We are subject to a number of audit regulations, one of which requires that certain colleagues abide by specific personal independence constraints. This can mean that you and your "Immediate Family Members" are not permitted to hold certain financial interests (shares, funds, bonds etc.) with audit clients of the firm. The recruitment team will provide further detail as you progress through the recruitment process.
