It will provide a national stage to showcase the value of Women\'s and Para sport and provide a central point of accountability for both. The role will build on the current business case for investment across both games internally and externally.

This role will have two direct reports; Senior Strategy & Business Manager and Head of Para Performance. Both full time and part time hours can be considered.

A Game For All

Utilising the power of football to change lives for the better, this role will oversee the continuous development and implementation of the strategies for both Women\'s and Para football at The FA. It will provide a national stage to showcase the value of Women\'s and Para sport and provide a central point of accountability for both. The role will build on the current business case for investment across both games internally and externally.

This role will have two direct reports; Senior Strategy & Business Manager and Head of Para Performance.

Both full time and part time hours can be considered.

What Will You Do?

  • Work with colleagues across the breadth of the organisations to evolve and deliver the women\'s strategy 2024 \xe2\x80\x93 2028. Ensure the integrated annual business plan and budget underpins this strategic framework.
  • Lead the evolution of the para/disability strategy \xe2\x80\x98Football Your Way\', the business plan and budget, ensuring that the momentum and performance level for the teams continues.
  • Build alliances with external stakeholders to continue to drive equal access for women across every level of the game.
  • Make the case to Government departments, Sport England and UKS to support the growth of the women\'s and para games to achieve wider societal change.
  • Bring together and influence the senior leaders across all divisions of The FA to ensure that both strategies are implemented and can realise more than the sum of their parts.
  • Provide leadership to colleagues across all divisions to ensure we execute both strategies collaboratively within a matrix structure.
  • Work in partnership with the commercial division to ensure every opportunity is taken to acquire new revenue, particularly focussed on the plan for the future of the women\'s FA cup.
  • Willing and able to be a media spokesperson for both games, promoting their development, success and potential.
  • Represent the interests of The FA on the Board of the New Company (NewCo) which is being formed to run the women\'s Professional Game (Super League and Championship).
  • Work in collaboration with the CEO of the professional game league NewCo and the Women\'s Technical Director to ensure strategic synergy and to retain the integrity of the women\'s competition pyramid.
  • Work with all relevant Boards and committees to ensure successful delivery of the women\'s strategy and annual business plan.
  • Ensure the women\'s and para teams contribute fully to The FA\'s EDI ambitions, bring this to life through both strategies in partnership with the central EDI team.
  • Contribute more broadly to the overarching organisation strategy and delivery by bringing leadership experience and wisdom to the table.
  • Executes additional tasks as required in order to meet FA Group changing priorities.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of health, safety and wellbeing can be maintained.
  • As part of The FA\'s commitment to ensuring a safe environment for everyone in football, every employee will be required to complete a DBS check. The level of the check required will be based on the activity of the specific job role and in line with legislation and government guidance.
What Will You Need?

Essential for the role:
  • A purpose led leader who is motivated by making an impact on the game and society more widely.
  • Knowledge and understanding of women\'s sport and what makes it different.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, not reliant on authority.
  • A proven leader with a track record of delivering results in different environments.
  • Able to articulate a vision and develop and manage the implementation of a strategy; hugely resilient to challenges and able to find creative solutions.
  • Capable of building strong relationships with a complex range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Able to harness the whole team successfully through a matrix organisation where some resources are directly owned, and others are not.
  • Skilled and experienced with media.
Beneficial to have:
  • Knowledge of working with government departments.
  • Experience of national governing body ways of working and or/league and competition structures.
  • Experience of working with high performance systems.

Our Organisation

The Football Association [The FA] is the not-for-profit governing body of football in England. We currently work within a hybrid working model whereby the expectation is to work from your contractual location for part of the week, and as and when required by the team. The remaining days can be worked remotely. We will continue to monitor this model and it may be adjusted in future if deemed necessary.
