Role Overview:

As the Director of UK Marketing, you will lead the strategic vision and execution of all brand marketing activities in the UK. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Design, Branding, Innovation, and Product Management, to drive brand growth and market expansion. Your ability to inspire and empower your team will be essential in achieving our financial goals and maintaining brand equity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the UK Brand Marketing group, fostering professional growth and investing in human capital.
  • Ensure company values, culture, and ethics are embedded, maintained, and encouraged.
  • Develop and communicate a strategic vision for growth, involving all stakeholders in the process of developing strategies and tactics.
  • Collaborate with the UK Sales Director and Sales team to strengthen trade relations and successfully introduce new products.
  • Stay abreast of market dynamics and consumer goods brand building to drive market share growth.
  • Oversee the development of a strategic marketing plan, encompassing key distributors, retailers, and end-users.
  • Direct the marketing, advertising, packaging, public relations, and promotion of products.
  • Lead the marketing team in the new product development process, building a robust product portfolio and new product plan.
  • Drive consumer understanding, generate insights, and identify opportunities to maintain brand relevance and effectiveness.
  • Manage annual marketing and product development budgets effectively.
  • Create an environment that motivates individuals to exceed expectations and achieve results.
  • Anticipate and respond to changing business opportunities and challenges, maintaining competitive leadership.
  • Monitor EPOS, market share, and market trends to identify target markets and potential issues/opportunities.
  • Coordinate the new product launch process with other departments to ensure effective communication and accountability.

  • Marketing Mastery: Leverage your vast experience in developing brand marketing plans, including media plans, social media, PR, and digital content. Manage large budgets associated with expansive media plans.
  • Media Planning/Buying: Understand the UK media planning and buying ecosystem to drive efficiencies across the entire plan.
  • Innovation: Connect brand strategies to innovation plans, partnering with R&D on innovation master planning.
  • Capability Building: Develop brand building mastery within your team by coaching and training individuals to become strong brand marketers.
  • Strategic Thinking: Distil brand priorities into simple frameworks that drive behaviour across Marketing, Sales, and R&D.
  • Analytical Skills: Connect diverse data points to form clear stories and actionable insights that drive brand growth.
  • Judgement and Decision-Making: Utilise data, experience, and intuition to make informed decisions in a timely manner.
Qualifications / Key Skills:
  • BA Degree or equivalent in marketing or a related discipline is desirable or experience gained over time in an FMCG background gaining Marketing qualifications as part of role
  • Substantial professional marketing experience, leading teams, and working cross-functionally with R&D and sales in launching multi-national consumer product and managing complex media budgets.
  • Proven track record of launching innovative new products and successful marketing strategies.
  • Must be team player, with a highly-collaborative style
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, plus a creative and adaptable attitude.
  • Excellent coaching skills and ability to keep staff engaged and encouraged while creating a learning environment.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit a plus.
  • Strong organisational, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Strategic planning, execution and implementation skills.
  • Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office suite - Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
  • Experience of working in a US based or owned Company would be highly desirable
  • Ability to travel across UK, Europe and to the US Head Office.
