Thank you for your interest in joining us as Director of SEN at Midhurst Rother College. This is a crucial post in the school\xe2\x80\x99s future development. The vacancy has arisen due to the current postholder being appointed to a senior leadership position in another school. We are seeking to appoint a colleague to be responsible for the provision of our SEN students\xe2\x80\x99 academic progress and personal development across the school. The successful candidate will lead whole-school CPD in this area, helping staff to improve their pedagogy with SEN students. The Director of SEN have a lot of autonomy; leadership development is important to us, as is having staff in school who have good ideas alongside the ability to put them into place.
Our SEN faculty has fantastic facilities and the Director of SEN has great support. SEN has specialist classrooms, an Engagement and Support Unit, our own on-site Forest School and an APC (Alternative Provision Coordinator). In addition to this, the Director of SEN has their own full-time Administrator and two deputies to support, as well as a team of Learning Support Assistants. We need someone who can help our students be highly skilled and highly qualified and this is a good post for someone aspiring to senior leadership.
We are seeking to appoint an excellent teacher to join our successful and friendly school. The role is open to applicants who have QTS from all subject areas \xe2\x80\x93 we are seeking a leader, not a subject specialist. We are an 11-19 United Learning Academy with a roll of 1180, including 130 in Key Stage 5; we expect this to grow to 150 from 2023. The College is currently oversubscribed and we are expecting our student numbers to grow over the next three years to over 1350.
