Role Overview

We are seeking an accomplished and proficient Director of Ecommerce and Digital Marketing to champion and steer our company\'s online sales expansion and digital marketing strategies. Reporting directly to the Chief Consumer Officer, the Director will lead the creation and execution of strategic plans to optimise our ecommerce platform and elevate digital marketing endeavours, amplifying our reach to a broader customer base and driving revenue. This role will sit within the Consumer Leadership Team, actively shaping our digital strategy and advocating for a consumer-centered digital-first approach across the organisation.

Responsibilities:

Ecommerce Strategy and Implementation:

  • Formulate and execute an all-encompassing ecommerce strategy in alignment with Pets at Home\'s overarching business objectives.
  • Propel the growth of online sales, customer acquisition, and retention via effective ecommerce tactics.
  • Oversee the evolution, upkeep, and enhancement of our ecommerce website and mobile applications.
  • Ensure a seamless user experience across all digital touchpoints, optimizing customer journeys and conversion rates.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, marketing, and operations for the efficient execution of ecommerce initiatives.
  • Lead the development of internal processes for content management, product innovation, and ongoing enhancement.
  • Innovate and identify fresh revenue opportunities through research, sales analysis, and industry trend analysis.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, anticipating areas for ecommerce growth beyond the present scope.
Digital Marketing:
  • Spearhead the formulation and execution of digital marketing strategies to bolster customer engagement, brand visibility, and sales escalation.
  • Collaborate closely with the marketing team to manage digital channels encompassing SEM, SEO, social media, display advertising, and affiliate marketing.
  • Utilise data analysis to refine digital marketing campaigns, track ROI, and drive iterative enhancements.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to curate engaging digital content tailored to distinct target audiences.
Team Leadership and Management:
  • Construct and lead a high-performing ecommerce and digital marketing team, cultivating a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
  • Establish clear objectives for the team, offering mentorship and professional growth prospects.
  • Effectively manage the departmental budget, optimizing resource allocation.
Data Analytics and Reporting:
  • Monitor and evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) related to ecommerce and digital marketing, presenting regular reports to senior management.
  • Utilize data insights to steer informed decisions and drive enhancements in online sales, customer acquisition, and overall marketing efficacy.
Qualifications and Skills
  • 5+ years of proven experience in ecommerce management and digital marketing, ideally within the retail sector.
  • Profound understanding of ecommerce platforms, digital marketing channels, and associated technologies.
  • Sound grasp of SEO, SEM, social media marketing, and affiliate marketing.
  • Adept in web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) and data interpretation.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management proficiencies, evidenced by accomplishments in team development.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to devise and execute ecommerce and digital marketing strategies.
  • Analytical mindset for data interpretation and data-driven decision-making.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Hybrid working: Office based working from our Handforth (Cheshire) Support Office for 2 days a week
