Director of Data Engineering - eCommerce
A leading online fashion retail with their customers at the heart of everything they do are looking for a new Director of Data Engineering.
As Director of Data Engineering you will be responsible for spearheading a world class team of Data Engineers including testers and have a passion for modern digital technologies and have a deep understanding of the entire life cycle of delivering high quality digital software using modern processes and coding practice.
You will also work with senior stakeholders to define department shape, training, and recruitment.
Key Requirements
- Previously defined a department.
- Extensive experience in systems architecture and integration
- Ability to set high standards, mentor, nurture and motivate your team and their managers
- Strong communicator as you will be speaking to clients and senior stakeholders constantly about projects and their key needs.
- From a technical background yourself, ideally from a Java, Kotlin, JavaScript, Python or GO
- Experience of distributed data processing frameworks (e.g. Spark, Storm, Flink etc), messaging/streaming frameworks like Kafka, Pulsar and NoSQL databases is essential.
- Previous experience of working within an eCommerce or Retail business.
