Position



We're looking for a Digital Writer with sharp SEO skills and a keen eye for finding the best quality and value when shopping online to join our eCommerce team based in Bristol. You'll work in a central team working across Our Media's exciting portfolio of award-winning media brands including BBC Countryfile magazine, Gardens Illustrated, Science Focus, YourHomeStyle, BikeRadar and many more

Reporting to the Commerce SEO and Content Manager and working closely with local editorial teams, you'll help our readers find the things they need to do the hobbies they love by writing about products in science and technology, homeware, outdoor, crafting or gardening, and turning them into best lists and shopping guides.

This is a fast-paced role, and we're looking for an individual who can keep up with the latest trends in their sector, recommending the best products and the best deals on everything from the latest gadgets and outdoor gear, to robotic lawn mowers and home appliances. You'll have plenty of support from the SEO and editorial teams, but you'll also be encouraged to bring your own ideas to the table to help each brand expand its eCommerce content for our readers.

You'll get training and experience to hone your skills in writing and marketing, and the opportunity to build your career as a journalist working for some of the best loved brands in the UK.

Requirements



Essential:



A background in journalism or content-based marketing A good understanding of SEO and the role it plays in acquiring new readers for online publishers Able to use analytics tools to draw insights and respond effectively You'll be motivated not just by web traffic but will want users to be motivated by buying the products you write about and recommend Able to work in a fast-paced environment, sometimes daily; reacting to news and deals quickly to deliver great content to our readers A keen eye for detail and accuracy, especially when crafting copy with tight deadlines

Desirable:



An enthusiasm for Tech, Outdoor, Craft, Nature, Homewares or Gardening would be useful, but you should also be able to quickly switch between sectors as necessary Understanding of affiliate marketing and its position within a publisher Experience in creating newsletters
