Position:
Digital Communications Officer, NWJCC
Following the establishment of the NHS Wales Joint Commissioning Committee (NWJCC) on 1st April 2024 and a recent organisational restructure, we are seeking a Digital Communications Officer to support our journey as a newly formed organisation.
The NWJCC is a joint committee of the seven health boards in Wales, with a Chair and Lay Members. We support collaborative commissioning across Wales, with around 120 staff based in Mold and Nantgarw/Treforest.
Our mission to be The Centre of Excellence for Collaborative Commissioning, improving health and care outcomes across Wales. We commission around 220 services, from NHS 111 and ambulance services to specialised rare disease services, and mental health, operating a 1.14bn budget.

Work with the Deputy Director to create and promote internal and external electronic communication platforms.
Co-ordinate the creation and distribution of content across all e-communications, including web, social, marketing materials, micro sites, intranet, and emerging technologies to maintain NWJCC's profile.
Plan, coordinate, and execute strategies to promote and protect NWJCC's reputation, ensuring key audiences understand its mission and vision.

Take the lead in planning and coordinating digital content across all NWJCC communication channels to reach out to a broader audience and engage with patients and staff.
Produce creative video and digital content using Photoshop, Final Cut, Canva or other editing packages for use on social media, NWJCC TV screens and at internal and external events.
Support the Communications and Engagement team to identify opportunities where good news stories and campaigns can be brought to life through digital content.
Will be required to make presentations to senior managers and the Joint Committee regarding the delivery of the digital communication strategy and the use of a variety of media and social media platforms that can help and promote better engagement with patients, public, staff, and stakeholders.
Decide on how best to use interesting and innovative ideas for digital-led campaigns which contribute to the organisation's key priorities, e.g. improving public health.
Advise on digital communications content and what approaches will have the most communications impact and engagement.
To lead on the design and execution of the NWJCC website to include maintenance and optimisation.
To actively contribute to the design/development of the website and update and enrich its content.
To source, select, edit and upload images to the website, ensuring appropriate rights are obtained and recorded, and images credited accordingly.
To plan and organise how images and other material will be digitally optimised and presented for the website, ensuring that material on the website is accessible to all groups including those with disabilities; including testing the site for functionality in different browsers and at different resolutions. To ensure compliance with web related codes of practice and legislative requirements.
To programme multimedia functionality by writing computer programs, creating websites/microsites and utilising new media that draw together multimedia features, such as text, sound, graphics, digital photography, animation and video.
To plan and advise on implementation, integration, testing, debugging & support.
To research and keep abreast of emerging technologies in order to be able to deliver the most up-to-date solutions, including learning new programming languages or technologies.
To lead on the development of NWJCC's intranet system by working with internal stakeholders to identify improvements to the usability and content of the site.
* To lead on the production for all marketing materials, ensuring that all materials are in line with the Accessible Information Standard and are in line with NWJCC corporate branding guidelines.
