Position Summary and Responsibilities

The Development Engineer has responsibility for the technical leadership of a team of multi-disciplined Development Engineers in the design, development, verification and qualification of electronic Safety Initiation modules. The role will have responsibility for technical compliance with requirements in addition to providing coordination and coherence across all projects. The role will enable learning points and best practice to be shared throughout the team and will ensure efficient future development through commonality and re-use of designs, verification and qualification data.

The project lead will work closely with the Development Project Manager to implement an effective risk management approach, ensuring risks are identified and mitigation plans are implemented, to ensure the programme meets budgeted timescale and cost.

The individual will be highly self-motivated and possess recognized skill in both electronic and mechanical design discipline, as well as having technical leadership skills while providing motivation and coaching for the Development team members.

Qualifications & Experience

Degree Qualified in an electronic or mechanical engineering discipline.

Proven experience of developing products within an engineering or technology based organisation(s).

Experience in Defence market sector is highly desirable.
