Job Description

We are assisting a Tier 1 Fit Out contractor with a turnover of over xc2xa3200 million in their search for an experienced Design Manager. As a Design Manager you will lead the design and planning of fit out projects, supporting their design team that is already in place, ensuring that all designs meet technical, operational, and strategic requirements including overseeing the design process, coordinating with various stakeholders, and ensuring that projects meet the highest standards of efficiency, reliability, and scalability.Key Responsibilities & Requirements:Lead the design and development of projects, including space planning, layout, and systems integration that align with organisational goals and industry best practices.Manage design projects from conception through to completion monitoring progress and resolve design-related issues and conflicts.Work closely with managers, engineers, architects, and contractors to ensure seamless design execution.Oversee the development of detailed design documents, including drawings, specifications, and technical reports.Work closely with internal and external teams to gather requirements and ensure design alignment.Communicate design concepts and progress including design changes, approvals, and project records to senior management.Degree in Engineering/ Architecture or equivalent qualifications.Proven experience in fit out projects, main contractor, traditional and modern methods of construction including experience in managing design projects, reading drawings, and leading design teams.Ability to review, analyse, and develop detailed design drawings, ensuring alignment with engineering and construction standards.Strong understanding of industry standards, regulations, and best practices.Proficiency in design software and tools.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.The ideal candidate is eligible to work in the UK with no visa restrictions.
